Sterling slipped at the start of the week, falling by over 0.19% against the US Dollar as a fiscal shock in France helped lift demand for the Greenback. The GBP/USD pair was trading at 1.3218 at the time of writing, with price action leaning in favour of the Dollar.
US Dollar Strengthens Despite Soft Data
The move came despite a dip in US services sector activity. Elevated US Treasury yields underpinned the Dollar, keeping it supported even as the services data softened.
