That rebound from the late\u2011July low was mapped as an (A)\u2011(B)\u2011(C) zigzag in ((W)), while 164.056 was set as the invalidation level for the downside-biased broader sequence. The setup framed a turn lower once wave ((X)) finished beneath that threshold.<\/p>\n
Follow-through came in the 09.15.2026 chart as USDJPY broke down from 160.364 and began a five\u2011wave impulsive decline labelled wave (A). The move progressed through sub\u2011waves 1 to 5, with wave 3 driving the main leg of the sell-off. After a wave 4 pause near 157.00, wave 5 carried price to around 152.50 to complete wave (A).<\/p>\n
Following the massive 700-pip drop down to the 152.50 level, we believe the dominant bearish momentum is firmly established. Since this impulsive five-wave decline likely completes wave (A), derivative traders should now prepare for a temporary corrective bounce, known as wave (B). We recommend using any short-term rallies back toward the 155.00 to 156.00 resistance zone to build fresh short positions.<\/p>\n
This bearish outlook is strongly supported by the narrowing interest rate differential between the Federal Reserve and the Bank of Japan. Recent market data shows the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield has slid toward 3.62%, while Japan’s 10-year government bond yield remains stable near 1.0% following the Bank of Japan’s hawkish policy adjustments.
