We believe the downside for the Korean Won is well-protected, backed by a booming technology sector that has seen semiconductor exports jump over 40% year-on-year in the first half of 2026. This export surge supports the central bank’s forecast of a historic USD 450 billion current-account surplus for the year. Additionally, with the Bank of Korea hinting at a final rate increase to 3.25% later this year, the macroeconomic backdrop remains highly supportive of the Won.<\/p>\n\n
To trade this outlook, we recommend buying USD\/KRW put options on any brief rallies toward the 1,400 level to target a move back down to 1,360.
