Manufacturing data also cooled, with the SVME Manufacturing PMI easing to 53.2 in July from 54.3 in June, below the 55.0 consensus and the lowest since February. The pair\u2019s rise was tempered by broader US Dollar weakness after Japan and the United States confirmed joint foreign exchange intervention, alongside Bank of Japan figures showing spending of up to $58.97 billion. Separately, sentiment improved after Donald Trump said planned US strikes would be paused, as talks were sought on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and addressing Iran\u2019s nuclear programme; attention also turns to US nonfarm payrolls and the Federal Reserve\u2019s response to incoming data and earnings.<\/p>\n
We recommend that derivative traders build long positions on the USD\/CHF pair using call options or bull call spreads. The drop in Swiss inflation to 0.4% in July, alongside a manufacturing PMI decline to 53.2, strongly indicates that the Swiss National Bank will lean toward further monetary easing.
