This robust activity in housing comes as the latest Consumer Price Index reading for April showed core inflation holding at a sticky 2.8%. This is still well above the Fed’s 2% target, complicating their policy path forward. This data pairing suggests a “higher for longer” rate environment is now the most likely scenario.<\/p>\n
