From a technical standpoint, the 1.3650 level that capped the advance in early 2026 has now become a crucial support zone. A sustained break below this area could signal a deeper correction, while holding above it keeps the focus on the 1.3800 handle.<\/p>\n
Geopolitical risk from the Iran conflict, which first drove energy prices higher in 2025, remains a significant wildcard for currency markets. We’ve seen how quickly sentiment can shift, making it prudent to hedge long sterling exposure. Buying short-dated puts with a strike near the 1.3600 level could offer cheap insurance against a sudden dovish repricing or a surprise surge in the US dollar.<\/p>\n
