Gold was priced at AED 587.94 per gram, down from AED 594.28 on Friday.

Gold dropped to AED 6,858.50 per tola from AED 6,931.57 per tola on Friday. Other listed prices were AED 5,877.33 for 10 grams and AED 18,287.15 per troy ounce.

Uae Gold Price Reference Method

FXStreet calculates local gold prices by converting international prices using the USD/AED rate and local units. Prices are updated daily at the time of publication and are for reference, as local rates may vary slightly.

Central banks were reported as the largest gold holders. The World Gold Council said central banks added 1,136 tonnes of gold worth around $70 billion in 2022, the highest annual total since records began.

Gold prices can move due to factors such as geopolitical instability, recession fears, interest rates, and US Dollar movements. Gold is often described as having an inverse relationship with the US Dollar and US Treasuries, and it can also move opposite to risk assets such as equities.

The minor dip in gold prices to 587.94 AED per gram is likely short-term noise rather than a change in the underlying trend. We see the broader economic environment, especially the pivot toward lower interest rates by major central banks that began in late 2024, as the main driver for prices. This makes holding a non-yielding asset like gold more attractive for institutional portfolios.

Dollar Rates And Central Bank Buying

The U.S. Dollar’s relative weakness in early 2026 continues to provide a tailwind for gold, a significant shift from the dollar strength we saw for much of 2023 and 2024. A weaker dollar makes gold cheaper for holders of other currencies, which tends to boost demand. This inverse relationship will be critical to watch in the coming weeks.

Central bank demand remains a powerful force supporting the market, creating a solid price floor. We saw them add over 1,000 tonnes of gold to reserves in both 2022 and 2023, and data showed this aggressive buying from emerging economies continued throughout 2025. This persistent demand signals a strategic, long-term move away from other reserve assets.

Lingering geopolitical uncertainty and fears of a global economic slowdown are also encouraging flows into safe-haven assets. After the market turbulence we experienced last year, investors are prioritizing capital preservation. Gold’s historical performance during such periods makes it a primary consideration.

For derivative traders, these factors suggest that any price weakness should be viewed as a buying opportunity. Using call options could be a prudent strategy to gain upside exposure to a potential rally towards previous highs. This approach allows participation in price gains while defining and limiting downside risk to the premium paid for the options.

Create your live VT Markets account and start trading now.

UAE gold prices fell Monday: AED 587.94/gram, AED 6,858.50/tola; central banks remain major buyers.

[59

post-41939","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-live-updates
["GET
