The strength in energy is a key factor weighing on the EUR\/CAD pair, which has fallen over 8% in the last year to trade around 1.4750.<\/p>\n
We are also seeing a clear divergence in central bank policy, which traders should watch closely. The ECB has since started a cautious easing cycle, cutting its main rate to 1.75% as recent Eurozone inflation cooled to 2.5%, whereas the Bank of Canada has held its rate firm at 3.0%, citing persistent domestic pressures.
