US Dollar Consolidation and Key Technical Levels
The US dollar remained within its consolidation range, but Friday’s trade showed renewed bid tone after early weakness in Asia. Buyers stepped in ahead of Wednesday’s bullish gap at 101.60–101.70 and erased the morning gap, while a daily close above 102.05 would set up a bullish engulfing pattern. Overhead, the range structure still dominates: resistance is flagged at 102.27 and then 102.36–102.49, while broader support is anchored at the June and July highs of 101.49–101.57.
Precious Metals Outlook: Gold, Silver, Platinum, and Copper
Gold moved higher intraday, breaking above both the upper boundary of a declining channel and a short-term downtrend line, though the move hinges on the close. A settlement above 4202 would help convert the breakout into support, with the next test seen at the 28 September bearish gap of 4315–4321; a measured objective near 4500 is referenced from the height of a potential declining wedge. Key support remains 4098–4135, with 4100 in focus, while silver has already invalidated a minor breakdown and platinum is attempting to reclaim its rising channel; copper is also trying another breakout.
