USD/CHF fell through 0.8300 on Thursday and was trading at 0.8269, down almost 1%, after struggling around 0.8250 as a potential double-top pattern took shape on the daily chart. The broader move still points higher, with the sequence of higher highs and higher lows intact, but the pair’s failure to clear 0.8400 on Wednesday helped deepen the retreat below 0.8300.
Technical Momentum And Key Levels
Momentum signals have softened, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) drifting lower and close to a bearish turn. A recovery above 0.8300 would refocus attention on 0.8350 and then the yearly high at 0.8395, with 0.8400 back in view if those levels give way. A drop beneath the October 2 low of 0.8227 would confirm the double top and shift focus to the 50-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) at 0.8189, followed by the 100-day SMA at 0.8116. The report was corrected on October 15 at 20:05 GMT to state the pair was struggling at 0.8250 rather than 0.8350.
