Reuters reported the Reserve Bank of India may step up support to prevent a sustained move beyond 96 per dollar, citing increased firepower from foreign exchange reserve accumulation via FCNR deposits. Markets also weighed expectations for further Federal Reserve tightening, with CME FedWatch showing an almost 70% probability of an October rate rise; attention turns to August JOLTS at 14:00 GMT, seen at 7.23 million versus 7.271 million in July. Technically, USD\/INR traded around 96.10, above the 20-day EMA at 95.68, with RSI at 62.5 and resistance near 97.00.<\/p>\n\n
Given that the USD\/INR has breached the 96.00 mark and is targeting 97.00, we advise derivative traders to favor long positions using call options or bull call spreads. The technical outlook remains highly supportive as the pair holds comfortably above its 20-day exponential moving average of 95.68. With the Relative Strength Index at 62.5, there is still plenty of room for upward movement before the market becomes overbought.<\/p>\n\n
