Thailand’s energy dependency is highly critical, as the country imports approximately 85% of its crude oil consumption. In the fixed-income space, we should prepare for prolonged high interest rates by shorting US Treasury futures. Since US Treasury yields are holding firm above 4.0% and consumer inflation expectations remain stuck at 4.2%, a rapid rate cut cycle is highly unlikely.
