After an up day on 8 June and a reversal on 9 June, the five (orange) waves lower were treated as complete, implying a three-wave corrective bounce: W-a was set at $7,380\u20137,430 (print $7,396), W-b at $7,300 +\/-25 (print $7,257), and W-c at $7,465\u20137,530 (high so far $7,456).<\/p>\n
Based on the current market structure, we believe the S&P 500 is in the early stages of a significant decline that could last for several months. This technical outlook is reinforced by recent economic data, which shows signs of strain. The latest May CPI report came in hotter than expected at 3.8%, suggesting inflation remains stubborn and could keep the Federal Reserve from cutting rates.
