Global inflation expectations have risen alongside higher oil prices linked to conflict involving Iran. \n\nWith rates expected to stay on hold, attention is on the Fed\u2019s dot plot and Chair Jerome Powell\u2019s press conference. The dot plot summarises where policymakers see the federal funds rate over coming periods. \n\nThe euro traded broadly lower ahead of the European Central Bank decision on Thursday. The ECB is also expected to leave rates unchanged, with Eurozone inflation remaining near the 2% target for an extended period.\n\nLooking back to this time in 2025, we recall the market’s focus on both the Fed and ECB holding rates steady, with EUR\/USD hovering around 1.1550.
