The Dow Jones Industrial Average’s recent path was framed through the Elliott Wave Principle, with a projected five-wave decline towards 50,250–750. Within that template, the preferred roadmap pointed to a third wave near 51,000 ± 250 and a fourth wave around 52,250 ± 250, while separate technical markers flagged support near 50,500 and a 161.8% Fibonacci extension at about 50,484. In price action that followed, the index printed 51,186 on 16 September for W-3, rose to 52,319 on 22 September for W-4, and fell to 50,546 on 6 October for W-5, before trading back in the low 52,000s.
Scenarios Following the October Low
From the 6 October low, the current advance is presented as either a counter-trend rebound, labelled red Wave-b, with an ideal zone of 52,750–53,250 and scope to 53,750–54,250, then a red W-c drop that could finish a broader fourth-wave correction in the mid- to high 40,000s. Alternatively, if that October low holds, the preferred count allows a five-wave rally to new all-time highs around 57,000 ± 1,000; if the low breaks after stalling near 53,500 ± 500, it raises the risk of a slide into the 40,000s.
