Gold prices in the United Arab Emirates fell on Monday, based on FXStreet data. The metal was priced at AED 510.56 per gram, down from AED 513.44 on Friday, while the tola rate slipped to AED 5,955.06 from AED 5,988.68. FXStreet’s table also put Gold at AED 5,105.64 for 10 grams and AED 15,880.17 per troy ounce, with local-currency pricing derived from international levels via USD/AED and updated daily at publication-time market rates; quoted figures are for reference and may differ from local dealing prices.

Separately, background material described Gold’s role as a store of value, a safe-haven asset and an inflation hedge, and said central banks are the largest holders. It cited World Gold Council data showing central banks added 1,136 tonnes worth about $70 billion in 2022, identified as the highest annual purchase on record, and referenced reserve increases by China, India and Turkey. The notes also: linked Gold’s inverse correlation to the US Dollar and US Treasuries, described relationships with risk assets, and said price drivers include geopolitics, recession concerns, interest rates and moves in USD for XAU/USD pricing.

Short-Term Price Movement and Trading Outlook

We are seeing a minor pullback in gold prices today, with UAE gold slipping to AED 510.56 per gram from Friday’s AED 513.44. Despite this slight daily drop, gold remains incredibly strong, trading at the equivalent of over $4,300 per ounce. We advise derivative traders to view this short-term dip as a strategic buying opportunity rather than a trend reversal.

Central Bank Buying and Institutional Support

Central banks continue to purchase gold at historically high rates to diversify their reserves, building on the record 1,136 tonnes purchased in previous years. Strong buying from emerging economies like China and India continues to provide a massive price floor for the precious metal. We believe this sustained institutional demand makes a deep market crash highly unlikely in the coming weeks.

As interest rates shift globally, the lower opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets keeps gold highly attractive. We recommend that options traders look to buy call options with expirations set for late October to capture the next rebound. For futures traders, entering long positions near current support levels offers a very attractive risk-reward setup.
